About

I’m a freelance journalist (currently at The Independent) who has just completed the MA in Newspaper Journalism at City University London. (You can have a look some of my work here.)

Three years ago I accidentally ended up at Swansea University. While I only really pretended to study English with Creative Writing, I was actually more involved with The Siren, a new student blog about life in the lovely, ugly town. After working as a contributor for a year I became editor in chief for the next two, during which time The Siren won the 2012 NUS Wales award for Best Student Media, was highly commended for NUS UK, and was shortlisted again in 2013. (It won NUS Wales Best Student Media for the second time this year, under a new and fabulous pair of editors.)

I’ve worked for various publications through work experience placements and internships, including The Telegraph, The Sun, the South Wales Evening Post, Time Out London, Time Out Paris, and the slow journalism magazine Delayed Gratification. My areas of interest are: politics, arts and culture, society, and travel.

Outside of journalism I also write fiction (my first book was self-published on Amazon in 2012) and short stories. I love art, music, languages (I speak French and Italian), travel, and cocktails. Make me a decent mojito and you’ve got yourself a friend for life.
